22.02.2019 J.G. Balkenstein

Unfortunately J.G. Balkenstein died on 12.01.2019. Prof. Balkenstein was one of the founding fathers of AIM. He was the first chairman of „Europäische Hochschullehrergruppe Technische Betriebsführung“ (EHTB) (European Academy for Technical Plant Management)“ in 1984.  The EHTB later became the AIM. Prof. Balkestein retired in 1987 and relinquished his position. J.G. Balkenstein continued to be an Honorary Member of AIM.  We would like to thank Prof. Balkenstein for his commitment and his initiative in the dissemination and further development of the AIM idea.


Erasmus Plus exchange

I am very pleased to inform the AIM community that within the Erasmus plus program held on May 23-30, 2018 colleagues Prof. Joanna Oleśków-Szłapka and Adj. Prof. Agnieszka Stachowiak from the Poznan University of Technology, Department of Production Management and Logistics, visited the Polytechnic University of Bari and gave Seminars on ‘Lean Production topics’ for the Master curriculum of Engineering Management.


In January 2017, the AIM Board meeting took place in Bari (Italy). In the framework of the meeting, the AIM Board met the mayor of Bari, Mr. Antonio Decaro, in oder to inform about the G7 Event in Bari (in may 20th 2017) and the AIM project „European Graduate School of Industrial Engineering and Management“.
